Help!...I'm new to all this technical stuff!
If you are completely new to Information Technology and using computers we can start you off and answer any questions you may have. Once you are familiar with a few ideas and terms you can continue on to something like our Microsoft Windows course.
PLC School and Training Centre recommends some experience of using Microsoft Windows as it is fundamental to information technology and it will help you to easily move on to other subjects such as social networking, emails or online communication, although you can learn enough from our social media courses to get you through if you don't want to spend time with Windows.

Microsoft Windows 7
If you buy a laptop or PC you will come across software used to make all the data and programs accessible. This is commonly a version of Microsoft Windows and normally comes pre-installed. Note: Always ask the store for the original Windows CD for your new machine - you may need serial numbers and items on the CD at a later date.
PLC School and Training Centre are currently teaching Windows 7 which is one of the latest versions. As a beginner you can learn about how an operating system works and how to use accessories and tools to start you off. You will also learn how to manage files, install or uninstall software, learn about the help system and how to define and control the colour scheme, screen savers wallpapers and other custom elements.
If you already have an older version of Windows (such as Windows XP), are about to upgrade to Windows 7 or need to upgrade your knowledge for the work place, you can learn about all the new features and options. We can also show you tips, tricks and shortcuts to make Windows more convenient or fun to use.
