Advance Your Career or Study Abroad

If you have been advised to study for any of the following examinations your aim is to gain a recognised qualification in English to academic or high business level. To do this you must already have a high level of English. If this is not the case you will need to study up to advanced level English or upper-intermediate at the very least.

PLC School and Training Centre can interview you and give you a pre-course test if you have never taken a test or exam at this level before. We will not take on any student who is not at the required level for examination, but we can help you to study general English with a language course until you are at the required level.

Our exam level English courses are more about developing test technique and practice tests together with a focus on any weak areas you may have. Your level of English must already be at a standard we can apply to training and testing for examinations.

IELTS TOEIC TOEFL - which one for you?

Many people are not completely sure which examination is the one to suit their aims. There is a brief description below to explain each of the common examination standards available.

TOEIC

Test of English for International Communication

A test of English proficiency used as a standard for establishing workplace English writing skills and spoken English proficiency for non-native speakers.

TOEFL

Test of English as a Foreign Language

Evaluates the ability of an individual to use and understand English in an academic setting -  English speaking colleges and universities for example.

Level test & Assessment

The first step is to take a level test and gain an assessment of ability from our trainer. This is so you can make a judgement about if you are at the required level.
